INTERNSHIPS

Masque & Pettycote will provide interested Costumers with connections to opportunities for internships or entry level work in construction, wardrobe, or assistant careers. Interns will work their way up through the atelier, eventually acquiring design opportunities.

Internships are stipend or credit based.

The assistant internship is from 4-8 months. It details media, clerical, and client relations. It can go from 4-6 hours a day.

­Wardrobe internships include the dress rehearsal period and a maximum 4 show week for 3 weeks (shorter or longer runs or more runs per week will be negotiated at different levels). They will start with laundry before learning repairs, quick changes, makeup, and hair. Internships can be anywhere from two to six hours a day.

­Stitching interns spend up to eight weeks stitching with the experienced construction team. They start with alterations before moving to basic construction methods. Internships can be scheduled anywhere from 3-5 hours a day.

­Design interns spend up to eight weeks assisting the costume designer through fittings, communication with the construction team, and weekly production meetings and shopping. Internships can be scheduled anywhere from 3-5 hours a day.
